We were so excited to catch up with Deb and her crew in Williamsburg! We took them on one of our favorite excursions...The Jamestown Ferry!
I think Christopher really liked feeding the seagulls!
LOOK! There's Christopher and Daddy on the balcony!
:)
After lunch, we went to a state park (Chippokes) and had a little "burn off some energy time". ...Is someone looking a little tired and cranky??
goofball. I think Patrick's about 5 sizes too big!
...and goofball #2...
...how much tire mulch can we put on here before sliding down??...
All in all, we had a pretty good week...but I like Deb's idea for next year! We're gonna find a sitter and WE are going on spring break!!!

Va Beach...
It woulda been great if our whole spring break was this calm...what a beautiful sunrise!
The water was WAAAAYYYY too chilly to play in tho!

The boys HAD to ride the sury on the boardwalk...Tricky to pedal a bike in a skirt!
one of our most favorite things to do...

The haircut...
Patrick is almost 9 now...he's already started baseball...spring has sprung...whatever excuse I can make...He was due for a haircut. He wanted something different this time and of course, so did Zach. So here we go. The haircut I do every day, but not on my baby boy! He (P) was so excited to do it, I was almost crying!! I think he's jumped right into "teenager hood"...some other people however, not naming any names, but maybe a certain Auntie, don't like it! I'm not sure why yet tho...bc it makes him look older? a bad haircut??? What's your opinion? (shh...it won't go any farther then here...)
The shoe string...
So Zach was doing his homework one night...cutting out some shapes to glue on to the next piece of paper. He got mad that Patrick reached around him to get a grape...then he almost stabbed Patrick in the face with the scissors! I was scared to death and furious! I popped him and asked him (in a rather loud voice) if he realized what he just did! So he had a little temper tantrum...The next day, I was getting ready for work and was untying my shoe, when about 6 inches came off! I immediately asked Zach if he cut my shoe string and he put his hand over his mouth trying to hide his smile and said "no!" After further questioning, I was trying not to laugh myself, he confessed he did it. I was holding the 6 inch piece of shoe string in front of him asking him what he thought I should do because these are my work shoes and I've got to go to work today!!! He looked up at me with those big brown eyes and said "do you want some tape?" I almost melted...he thinks tape fixes everything! I said "NO!" and we had a serious talk about hurting other peoples things...I kept the piece of shoe string in my pocket all day and every time I looked at it, it made me smile...just one of those things....can you tell which is which!! lol

Exploring in the woods!
These are the woods behind school...All this was once the family land, related to the family who owns our house! There was also a Civil War battle on/near our property you can check out sometime by googling...Battle of Bethesda Church. Pretty cool stuff...unless you're sitting out on the porch all by yourself at night and you hear a noise in the bushes! But anyway...Here's our adventure today!
Zach has a secret "treasure map"...
The first thing we saw as we walked across the field was a groundhog! So we followed him to his house!
Patrick just HAD to bring the bb gun in case we saw something big he needed to shoot!
lets just see what's on the other side of this fallen tree...
WAIT FOR ME!...
we're not lost are we???...
...oops! Thought we might find a sign like this...Do I pretend we didn't see it or teach my boys the right thing and leave??? :)...
Patrick lost a shoe...good thing little bro was there to lend a shoulder!
goofball...

Zach's first date!
Well, I knew this day would come...I just didn't think it would happen at 5 1/2 yrs old! Zach has a crush on one of my best friends...Ms. Lauren. So he calls her one day last week and says..."Hey Baby! Do you wanna go to the movies with me this weekend?" So of course, she says yes! Who could turn down such a romantic invitation??? He called her back to let her know he'd be picking her up. Meanwhile, he's telling me what he wants to wear...It started out like this: "black bow tie, white shirt and black jacket then black pants, dress socks and new shoes."
He picked her flowers out of the yard...
Zach was all smiles and walked to the front door and rang the doorbell...gave Ms. Lauren the flowers and a hug!
Walked her to the car and even closed her door!
So here we go into the movies...hand in hand with his ra-ra behind his back!!! HILARIOUS!!! Zach bought her candy from the dollar store (and hid it in mom's purse, heehee) and carried her drink for her til we all found a seat. Zach isn't very good at sitting still in movies, but this was his best one yet! He was getting a little restless at one point, so took turns putting his head on my shoulder and Laurens...Patrick was too busy eating popcorn and lemonheads to notice anything else going on. haha (We saw Horton HEARS a Who!)
